Words have this incredible power. They influence how we feel, affect our vibration, and even shape the energy we exude. It's pretty fascinating stuff!
Try this! Say the word 'Ignite' in your head. Now deeply inhale with ‘Ignite’ in mind. Now slowly exhale with the word ‘Ignite’ in mind. How does your body feel? Fiery? Ready to face the day? Now try it with the word ‘Quake’. Say the word in your head. Now, with ‘Quake’ in mind, deeply inhale. Now slowly exhale the word ‘Quake’. How does your body feel? Probably less than at ease. Think about it: words are like ketchup packets that carry meaning and intention. When we speak or hear certain words, they can either uplift us or bring us down. Have you ever noticed how a positive affirmation or a kind compliment can instantly make you feel good? That's the power of uplifting words. They have the ability to raise our vibration, boost our confidence, and fill us with hope or positivity.
On the flip side, negative or hurtful words can have the opposite effect. When someone criticizes us or uses harsh language, it can bring our energy down, make us feel small, and even impact our self-esteem. Words have this uncanny ability to leave a lingering energy in our minds and hearts. That's why it's so important to be mindful of the words we choose, both when we speak to ourselves and when we interact with others.
Being mindful of our words means being aware of their power and consciously choosing them. It's about cultivating a positive mindset and using language that aligns with our intentions. When we speak with kindness and empathy, we create a safe and uplifting environment for ourselves and those around us.
This sounds like arduous work, but it’s not. Simply choose one word or phrase to swap out for another. You can do this once per week or once per month. Slowly it’ll become a habit. Over the course of a few months, you’ll see profound changes in your mood and self-worth.
For example, swap out “I’m Sorry” for “Thank you for…”
Let’s say you’re running late. You might say, “I’m sorry for not holding the door open” Swap it for “Thank you for understanding”.
Moreover, our internal dialogue plays a massive role in shaping our energy. The way we talk to ourselves matters. If we constantly berate ourselves with negative self-talk, it's no surprise that our vibration and overall well-being may suffer. Instead, we can choose to speak to ourselves with love, encouragement, and compassion. Affirmations and positive self-talk can work wonders in raising our vibration and boosting our confidence.
Another good swap could occur in your internal dialogue. Instead of pointing out everything that’s not to your liking, you could ask yourself, what’s going right? This might be difficult at first, but as you start thinking in this way, you’ll build momentum and eventually it’ll be easier to find what’s going right than what’s going wrong.
